Food supplement based on probiotics for the balance of intestinal flora.
VSL#3 is a patented blend of live, lyophilized lactic acid bacteria and bifidobacteria. Eight different strains of bacteria have been selected, grown in specific culture media, and then mixed in proportions to optimize the product's functionality.
Each sachet of VSL#3 contains 450 billion vital bacterial cells, a quantity that helps restore the lactic acid and bifidobacterial flora of the intestine.

Ingredients
Maltose; blend of live lactic acid bacteria and bifidobacteria: Streptococcus thermophilus BT01, Bifidobacterium breve BB02, Bifidobacterium longum* BL03, Bifidobacterium infantis* BI04, Lactobacillus acidophilus BA05, Lactobacillus plantarum BP06, Lactobacillus paracasei BP07, Lactobacillus delbrueckii subsp. bulgaricus** BD08; corn starch; anti-caking agent: silicon dioxide.
No artificial colors, preservatives, or sweeteners.
Contains no soy allergens or milk proteins.
*Recently reclassified as Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis.
**Recently reclassified as Lactobacillus helveticus.

Gluten-free and lactose-free.

Instructions for use
Adults: 1-2 sachets throughout the day.
Children: Consult a doctor for the correct dosage.
The contents of the sachet should be mixed in a glass of water or any other non-hot, non-carbonated drink, and ingested immediately. Alternatively, it can be taken with yogurt, ice cream, or fruit juice and ingested immediately. It should not be mixed with hot foods or drinks as high temperatures inactivate the bacteria.

Warnings
Keep out of reach of children under three years of age. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. The product, as a food supplement, is not intended as a substitute for a varied and balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle.
The product contains live lactic acid bacteria and bifidobacteria, which are sensitive to heat: it is therefore recommended to avoid exposure to heat sources or temperature changes, to store it in a dry place, away from light, and at refrigerated temperature.
No adverse effects due to ingestion have been reported. In some cases, abdominal bloating may occur in the first few days of taking the product, especially if the diet is rich in carbohydrates and fats. This effect is temporary.

Storage
It must be kept at refrigerated temperature (2°- 8°C) and away from light.
The product can still be stored for one week at room temperature (maximum: 25°C) without significant alterations in the number of viable bacteria. The minimum shelf life indicated on the package refers to the product correctly stored, in intact packaging.
