Description
Medical device in tablet form useful in all cases of altered vaginal microflora. It can be used in cases of malodorous leukorrhea caused by non-specific vaginitis or after treatment with chemotherapy and antibiotics for specific vaginitis (due to candida, trichomonas, mycoplasma, etc.) as a complement to antimicrobial therapy to rebuild the vaginal bacterial flora, restoring the physiological conditions of the vaginal microenvironment.
Contains lactobacillus acidophilus, lactic acid, and soy isoflavones. The uro-vaginal system is characterized by a complex microbial ecosystem that physiologically provides natural defense against bacterial infections and candida; normal vaginal secretion indeed has an acidic pH between 3.8 and 4.5, and this acidity is maintained by a normal level of estrogen, such as that of women of childbearing age, and by a constant bacterial flora. The bacterial flora that colonizes the vaginal mucosa is mainly composed of lactobacilli (Doderlein's bacillus), which metabolize glycogen into lactic acid, responsible for maintaining the acidic environment that makes colonization and development of pathogenic microflora unfavorable. When the microbial balance is temporarily altered by hormonal factors (menstruation, pregnancy, menopause), by incorrect hygiene habits (frequent use of vaginal douches, tampons, contraceptives) or by the use of antibiotics, infections by pathogenic agents can occur, profoundly altering the microbial composition of the urogenital system, with a drastic reduction of lactobacilli and manifestations of vaginitis and/or bacterial vaginosis. The most common symptoms are burning, itching, dysuria, and malodorous vaginal discharge. Thanks to its particular composition, once dissolved in the vagina, the Revagix tablet releases its functional components within a few minutes.
Lactic acid, lactobacilli, and isoflavones, by lowering the pH, promote the acidification of the vaginal environment to counteract the aggression and growth of pathogenic microorganisms, thus improving the well-being and elasticity of the vaginal walls.
Instructions for use
It is recommended to use one Revagix vaginal tablet, preferably in the evening, before going to bed, for 10 consecutive days of treatment. Start treatment 10 days before the start of the menstrual cycle and/or immediately after its end.
At the doctor's discretion, treatment can be extended up to twenty days. It is possible to use Revagix for repeated cycles.
When removing the tablet from the packaging, pay particular attention: do not pry at the center of the blister cavity as the tablet, due to its size, could break; instead, apply light pressure to the end of the cavity or, alternatively, cut the aluminum on the back of the blister, lift it, and remove the tablet.
Use the tablet immediately after removing it from the blister. The intact tablet must be inserted deeply into the vagina, to promote its rapid dissolution.
Components
Each tablet contains: lactobacillus acidophilus, lactic acid, soy seed extract standardized to 40% isoflavones.
Excipients: mannitol, starch, sodium carboxymethylcellulose, glyceryl behenate, silicon dioxide.
Warnings
If hypersensitivity to the product occurs, consult your doctor immediately. Any appearance of mild itching in the first days of treatment tends to disappear rapidly. If symptoms persist, consult a doctor.
Do not use Revagix together with other medical devices and/or medications for vaginal use, without consulting a gynecologist.
Do not use the device after the expiration date indicated on the package. Do not use if the package or blister is damaged or if the product shows excessive friability. This characteristic could be due to incorrect storage and/or warehousing of the product and the consequent degradation. The presence of slight spotting is due to the natural characteristics of the product. Do not expose the product to thermal shock.
Do not use Revagix in pre-pubertal age; it is recommended to use the product in adolescence only under the advice of a gynecologist.
It is advisable not to take quantities greater than those indicated, as higher doses can cause unexpected side effects. Do not use for more than 30 consecutive days; if symptoms persist, consult a doctor.
The tablet is for single use and for vaginal use; do not ingest the tablet.
Keep the device out of the reach of children. Do not take in case of intolerance to the product. Do not take in case of known hypersensitivity to the components.
In case of pregnancy or breastfeeding, consult a gynecologist for correct use of Revagix.
Storage
Store in a cool and dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 25°C, in the original packaging.
