Description
Thanks to the moisturising and protective film it forms with saliva, it is indicated in all cases of inflamed oral mucosa, such as: affections of the oral cavity and upper respiratory tract (such as pharyngitis and laryngitis, both acute and chronic); sore throat; dry cough; difficulty swallowing; furthermore, thanks to its barrier action, it reduces inflammation of the vocal cords, improves the viscoelastic properties of the vocal cord mucosa (the mucosa covering the vocal cords) and reduces hoarseness and dysphonia. The hydrogel, which forms in association with saliva when KAROS THROAT Lozenges are dissolved in the mouth, deposits as a protective film on the inflamed mucous membranes of the mouth and pharynx, promoting the healing process of the mucous membranes, thus acting as an adjuvant in re-epithelialization processes, for example in the presence of gastric reflux.

Components
Mannitol, sodium hydrogen carbonate, sorbitol, xanthan gum 9.5%, carbomer 9%, citric acid, lemon flavour, aspartame, vitamin C (ascorbic acid), zinc citrate dihydrate, sodium hyaluronate 0.1%.

How to use
Children aged 6 to 10: 1 tablet every 4÷5 hours; do not exceed 3 tablets per day.
Adults and children over 10 years: 1 tablet every 2÷3 hours; do not exceed 6 tablets per day.
Allow KAROS THROAT tablets to dissolve slowly in the mouth.
KAROS THROAT tablets should not be chewed or swallowed whole.
If symptoms persist after 3-5 days of use, consult your doctor.

Warnings
Do not use KAROS THROAT Lozenges after the expiry date indicated on the package. The expiry date refers to the last day of the month.
Do not use KAROS THROAT Lozenges if the packaging is open or damaged.
Before using KAROS THROAT LOZENGES in children over 6 years of age, it is necessary to check the child's actual ability to suck the tablet, avoiding the risk of it being swallowed whole.
Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of KAROS THROAT Lozenges you no longer use; do not throw KAROS THROAT Lozenges in wastewater and household waste, this will help protect the environment.
KAROS THROAT Lozenges are an addition to and do not replace other therapeutic treatments that may be prescribed by your doctor.
Keep out of sight and reach of children.
Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicine, as KAROS THROAT Lozenges form a hydrogel film, which can delay the absorption of other medicines. In addition, KAROS THROAT Lozenges contain zinc, which can reduce the effect of other medicines.
An interval of 3 hours is recommended between taking KAROS THROAT and other medicines.

Contraindications
Do not use KAROS THROAT Lozenges in case of hypersensitivity to one or more components.
Do not use KAROS THROAT Lozenges if you suffer from dry mouth (e.g. Sjögren's syndrome). Do not use KAROS THROAT Lozenges in children under 6 years of age.
KAROS THROAT Lozenges contain aspartame - a source of phenylalanine - which can be harmful to people suffering from phenylketonuria.
KAROS THROAT Lozenges contain sorbitol: in case of intolerance to some sugars, consult your doctor or pharmacist before use.
Excessive consumption of KAROS THROAT Lozenges can cause laxative effects.

Storage
Store in a dry place below 25 °C.
Shelf life of unopened packaging: 36 months.
