Description
A folic acid food supplement, useful in cases of reduced dietary intake or increased bodily need. Supplemental folic acid intake in pregnant women contributes to the growth of maternal tissues and increases maternal folate status. Low maternal folate status is a risk factor for the development of neural tube defects in the fetus. In women of childbearing age, the beneficial effect is achieved with a daily supplemental intake of 400 mcg of folic acid for at least one month before and up to three months after conception.
The development of neural tube defects in the fetus is due to multiple risk factors; intervention on one of these factors may not have a beneficial effect.

Ingredients
Bulking agents: dicalcium phosphate, microcrystalline cellulose; anti-caking agents: mono- and diglycerides of fatty acids, silicon dioxide, magnesium salts of fatty acids; folic acid (pteroylmonoglutamic acid).

Gluten-free and naturally lactose-free.
