BLUYAL
Description
Sterile isotonic ophthalmic solution with hyaluronic acid sodium salt (FHA 1.0) and amino acids.
Preservative-free.
A tear substitute that stabilizes the tear film and lubricates the ocular surface.
Sterile isotonic ophthalmic solution with hyaluronic acid sodium salt (FHA 1.0) 0.15% and amino acids, preservative-free, useful for supplementing tear secretion and restoring the physiological conditions of the tear film.
Hyaluronic acid is a mucopolysaccharide and is a physiological component of the eye. It has the property of adhering to the mucin layer of the ocular surface, protecting, hydrating, and lubricating it. Due to its mucoadhesive characteristics, it remains on the eye surface for a long time and stabilizes the tear film. In particular, the FHA 1.0 hyaluronic acid present in the formulation is pharmaceutical grade and has optimal characteristics of physiological compatibility with the ocular surface, safety, and purity.
Amino acids support the lubricating function of hyaluronic acid, improving the formulation's ability to distribute and the wettability of the ocular surface.
The BLUyal bottle is fitted with an OSD (Ophthalmic Squeeze Dispenser) dropper, which, through its absolute filter system, ensures the sterility of the product without the use of preservatives.
How to use
Instill 2 drops into the conjunctival sac 3 times a day for a period not exceeding 30 days or as directed by a doctor.
The product can also be instilled while wearing contact lenses.
- For first use, remove the plastic ring that seals the cap by pulling the side tab.
- Lift and remove the cap.
- To familiarize yourself with the correct pressure to apply to the bottle, dispense a single drop onto a paper tissue.
- Invert the bottle over the eye and with your index finger and thumb apply increasing pressure on the sides until a drop comes out. It is possible that as the solution in the bottle runs out, more force may be needed.
- Close the bottle with the cap.
Components
Main component: sodium hyaluronate FHA 1.0® 0.15%. Other components: boric acid, disodium tetraborate decahydrate, sodium chloride, glycine, L-leucine, L-lysine hydrochloride, L-proline, water for injections.
Contraindications
Known hypersensitivity to the product's components or other chemically related substances.
Warnings
- The product is for external ophthalmic use only (eye surface).
- To avoid the risk of infection, the product is intended for use by a single patient.
- To eliminate the risk of contamination of the solution, avoid the dropper coming into contact with the eye or other objects.
- To avoid injury to the ocular surface, ensure that the dropper does not come into contact with the eye during instillation.
- As the solution in the bottle progressively runs out, more force will be required to dispense the drop. It is advisable to adjust the pressure applied to the bottle to avoid excessive dispensing compared to what is indicated.
- Close the bottle tightly after use. The cap has an internal coating that allows any residual drops to be absorbed.
- No interactions of BLUyal® with drugs or other topical ophthalmic products are known; however, it is advisable to consult a doctor in case of concomitant use of other topical ophthalmic products for specific indications on administration times.
- Do not use the product if the bottle is damaged.
- Keep the product out of the sight and reach of children.
- In case of any side effects, stop using the product and consult a doctor.
- Keep the carton and leaflet for the entire period of use of the device.
- Dispose of the closed bottle with any residual contents according to local regulations.
Use in special populations
Given the presence of boric acid and disodium tetraborate decahydrate, the product is contraindicated in children under 12 years of age, during pregnancy and breastfeeding. In patients aged 12 to 18 years, consult your doctor before using the product, as the safety and efficacy of BLUyal in these cases have not been established.
