TONIMER Allergy
Description
Medical device for ophthalmic use. It is a sterile, preservative-free, medium-viscosity solution, with physiological pH and isosmotic, containing hyaluronic acid, rosmarinic acid, and vitamin B12. TONIMER Allergy Eye Drops mainly perform a hydrating and lubricating action. Hyaluronic acid is a biocompatible polymer and is naturally found in many human tissues. It gives the product a lubricating action thanks to its viscoelastic properties and water retention. Furthermore, it restores tear volume. Rosmarinic acid and Vitamin B12 are antioxidant substances that react with and neutralize free radicals. The antioxidant action takes place on the corneal surface. TONIMER Allergy Eye Drops supports physiological antioxidant mechanisms and integrates and increases the aqueous component of the tear film, with the final effect of favoring the maintenance or restoration of ocular tissue trophism. It is therefore particularly indicated both in situations of dry eye, ocular allergies, and in cases of other ocular discomforts caused by environmental or mechanical stress. It is also indicated to screen and protect against UV radiation and blue light.
It alleviates the symptoms of seasonal allergic conjunctivitis, even when associated with dry eye syndrome.
In fact, it restores tear volume, removes the allergen from the tear film by inducing blinking due to the instillation of drops, and counteracts oxidative phenomena by strengthening physiological antioxidant mechanisms. It reduces the symptoms of mild or moderate dry eye, possibly accompanied by itching, burning, foreign body sensation, redness, due to:
- environmental stresses such as climate changes, air pollution, dust, exposure to solar radiation, dry or very hot climate, air conditioning;
- mechanical stresses, such as inefficient blinking due to prolonged computer use or while driving, studying, using contact lenses for prolonged periods;
- age, menopausal or post-menopausal state; physiological decrease in the absorption of vitamin B12 taken with food;
- nutritional deficiencies such as decreased or insufficient vitamin intake;
- blepharitis. In this case, blinking after the instillation of eye drops also facilitates the detachment of any secretions present on the ciliary margin.
Instructions for use
Wash and dry hands thoroughly before use. Break the tamper-evident seal before the first administration. Remove the protective cap. Press the container and instill 2 drops in each eye, unless otherwise prescribed. After dispensing the first drop, wait a few seconds before squeezing the bottle again. This will allow air to return to the system, facilitating the dispensing of the next drop. Due to the intrinsic characteristics of the bottle with a dispenser for preservative-free solutions, as the bottle gradually empties, greater pressure may be required to allow the product to come out. A small amount of solution always remains inside the bottle. After use, shake the bottle to remove any excess product before replacing the cap on the container. After use, immediately close the bottle with the cap. If, after use, the bottle is squeezed, wait for it to return to its original shape before closing it with the appropriate cap. Do not touch the tip of the applicator, not even with your eyes or fingers.
Components
Sodium hyaluronate 0.12%, rosmarinic acid (extract from Coleus forskohlii) 0.020%, allantoin, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, vegetable glycerin, vitamin B12 0.010%, monobasic sodium phosphate monohydrate, dibasic sodium phosphate dodecahydrate, sodium chloride, water for injection.
Warnings
The product is for external ophthalmic use only. The product is for single patient use. Do not use the product if the container appears damaged or not perfectly sealed upon first opening. Do not use the product if particles and/or color changes of the solution are observed. During application, do not touch the eye or any other surface with the dispensing tip of the container. Do not use in case of known incompatibility with any component of the preparation. If you have severe damage to the outermost transparent layer of the eye (the cornea), the phosphates in this product can, in very rare cases, cause opaque spots on the cornea due to calcium accumulation during treatment. No interactions with drugs or other eye drops are reported; however, wait 15 minutes before instilling any other eye drops. In case of discomfort during use, discontinue treatment and consult a doctor. Do not use the product after the expiry date indicated on the package. Dispose of the product according to local waste management regulations. Keep out of reach and sight of children. In case of pregnancy or breastfeeding, consult your doctor before use. For external use. Do not swallow. Do not attempt to unscrew or tamper with the bottle dispenser. Report any serious incident that has occurred in relation to the device to the manufacturer and the competent authority of the member state in which the user is established.
Storage
Store in a dry place, away from heat sources and direct sunlight exposure, at a temperature between 2 °C and 25 °C.
Shelf life after opening: 3 months.
