Mucosamin is a medical device with a predominantly protective action on the oral mucosa, manufactured in accordance with Directive 93/42/EEC MDD. The product contains hyaluronic acid, the main component of connective tissue, and amino acids intended to promote collagen formation.
Mucosamin, through the protective action exerted by its components, is intended to assist the regenerative process of the oral mucosa to promote rapid healing of ulcerated areas and the simultaneous reduction of pain.
The special spray formulation allows for easy application even in hard-to-reach areas of the mouth.
Mucosamin is indicated for mucositis during chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and combined or concomitant treatments.
It is a fluid gel that can be used to hydrate the oral mucosa, on which it exerts a protective action.
It relieves irritative conditions of the oral cavity, usually caused by mucositis. It reduces sensitivity to external attacks, assisting the tissue repair process in the oral cavity while promoting the maintenance and restoration of physiological conditions.
Oral mucositis induced by radiotherapy or chemotherapy is a frequent side effect in cancer patients. Mucosal damage develops through an initiation phase followed by an amplification phase of the damage: the outcome is an ulceration phase followed by a tissue repair phase at variable times. Oral mucositis is characterized by erythema and recurrent mucosal ulcers with burning pain of varying severity. Severe forms of mucositis have a heavy impact on quality of life and can compromise the ability to tolerate the planned therapeutic regimen.
Mucosamin, by creating a protective layer, acts on the ulcerative phase of mucositis and promotes a faster reduction of pain and burning. Hyaluronic acid and amino acids then come into action in the regenerative phase of mucositis and promote the repair of the oral mucosa.
After cleaning the oral cavity, apply a uniform layer over the entire oral cavity and the lesion area.
Direct the applicator tip to the ulcerated or burning areas and spray several times until the entire affected area is covered.
It is always advisable to combine with a diet free of acidic or spicy foods.

Instructions for use
Apply a uniform layer by spraying several times until the entire affected area is covered. Application can be repeated several times a day (three to four) depending on the severity of the symptoms.

Components
Purified water, sodium hyaluronate, glycine, L-proline, L-leucine, L-lysine hydrochloride, methyl 4 - hydroxybenzoate sodium salt, propyl 4 - hydroxybenzoate sodium salt, propylene glycol, tetrasodium EDTA.

Warnings
It is contraindicated in case of ascertained hypersensitivity to the components. No overdose phenomena are known. No side effects are known. No interactions with drugs and medicinal substances are known. Although no secondary effects are known in case of pregnancy and breastfeeding, it is up to the physician to decide whether to prescribe the application. Mucosamin Spray is a product characterized by good tolerability.
The expiry date refers to the product unopened and correctly stored.
Do not use after the expiry date.

Storage
Mucosamin spray should be stored at a temperature between 8° and 30°. Do not refrigerate. Store in a cool, dry place, away from humidity and heat sources.
