Description
Medical device with mechanical action based on sodium alginate, sodium bicarbonate, sodium carbonate and calcium carbonate, formulated to perform 3 synergistic actions: block acid reflux, reduce heartburn and protect the esophageal mucosa. Maalox RefluRAPID medical device is indicated for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux to reduce related symptoms, such as: heartburn, gastric pyrosis during pregnancy, reflux esophagitis, acid regurgitation, indigestion, nocturnal reflux symptoms, cough and laryngopharyngeal inflammation.
Thanks to the action of sodium alginate and the carbonates it contains, it can start to act in 3 minutes. In contact with stomach acid, sodium alginate reacts by forming a gel while carbonates release carbon dioxide, allowing the gel to float and thus form a cap that mechanically prevents the rise of gastric juices towards the esophagus. The presence of bicarbonate also helps to reduce stomach hyperacidity. Thanks to its peculiar characteristics, it performs a barrier effect that protects the esophageal mucosa from acid aggression, promoting its regeneration and helping to prevent the risk of recurrence of reflux esophagitis. Its formulation, characterized by a specific balance between sodium alginate and carbonates, promotes rapid action.

Ingredients
Sodium alginate, sodium bicarbonate, sodium carbonate, calcium carbonate, purified water, flavor, polyacrylic acid, ethylparaben, sodium methyl-p-hydroxybenzoate, sodium saccharin.

Gluten and lactose free.

How to use
Adults and children over 12 years: 1 or 2 sachets (10 ml each) after main meals and at bedtime. Shake before use. Children under 12 years: should only be administered on medical advice. For how to take the product, carefully follow the instructions recommended by the doctor.

Warnings
Do not use in case of severe renal failure. Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to the components. In case of unwanted reactions, stop treatment and consult your doctor. The product may interfere with the absorption of oral medicines. It is therefore advisable to consult your doctor if you are taking oral medicines at the same time, which in any case must be administered at least 2 hours apart. If no improvement is noticed after 7 days of treatment, it is advisable to consult your doctor. The product may cause a feeling of bloating. Following the instructions for use reduces the likelihood of this happening. This product contains a quantity of sodium equal to approximately 100 mg (4.4 mmol) and calcium equal to approximately 36 mg (0.9 mmol) per sachet (10 ml). Consult your doctor if you are on a low-salt diet, such as in cases of hypertension, heart, liver and kidney problems, and in cases of hypercalcemia, nephrocalcinosis and recurrent calcium-containing kidney stones.
Keep out of reach and sight of children. Do not use the product after the expiry date indicated on the package and sachets. Do not refrigerate.

Storage
Store at a temperature between 8°C and 25°C, away from light and heat sources.
