Idroflog

Description
Ophthalmic solution containing sodium hyaluronate which, thanks to its mucomimetic and pseudoplastic properties, spreads evenly over the ocular surface, forming a protective viscoelastic bandage. In this way, by exerting a mechanical action ("barrier effect"), IDROFLOG stabilizes the tear film and reduces the friction caused by eye movements and blinking, protecting the eye surface and promoting repair processes following damage to corneal epithelial cells due to hyposecretion of the tear film. In fact, in cases where the glands responsible for tear film secretion reduce their normal activity—due to various factors—the corneal surface remains more exposed to external insults. Over time, these insults cause dysfunction of corneal epithelial cells, associated with the risk of bothersome inflammatory processes. The application of the IDROFLOG bandage protects the corneal surface from exposure to external insults and, thanks to the ancillary action of Hydrocortisone Sodium Phosphate (a low-dose corticosteroid agent with low anti-inflammatory power and short duration of action), helps prevent the risk of inflammatory recurrences. IDROFLOG is for limited-time use and always under the direct supervision of a specialist doctor. Finally, thanks to its special saline composition, IDROFLOG restores and maintains physiological levels of important ions such as sodium, potassium, and magnesium, which are essential for the well-being of the ocular surface. The device does not contain preservatives.

Instructions for use
It should be dosed individually according to your condition and based on your ophthalmologist's recommendations. Generally, instill 1-2 drops of the solution into the conjunctival sac of the eye to be treated, 2-4 times a day. The total duration of treatment is 2-6 months but must be specifically determined by the specialist doctor and, in any case, under their direct supervision (a follow-up every 30-45 days is recommended).
Open the bottle by removing the protective tab. Remove the cap. Pressing the inverted bottle, instill 1-2 drops of IDROFLOG into the conjunctival sac, letting them fall from above. Always close the bottle with its cap after use. Do not damage or dismantle the bottle, and do not damage or mechanically block the dropper orifice. IDROFLOG can also be used while wearing contact lenses.

Components
Sodium hyaluronate 2 mg/ml, hydrocortisone sodium phosphate 10 mcg/ml, trisodium citrate, sodium chloride, potassium chloride, magnesium chloride, disodium phosphate, monosodium phosphate, purified water.

Warnings
Hypersensitivity to the components or other chemically related substances. In concomitance with viral contaminations of the ocular surface, keratitis ulcers, eye mycosis, purulent conjunctivitis, purulent and herpetic blepharitis, stye. Generally contraindicated in pregnancy, during breastfeeding, and in pediatric age.
Due to its viscoelastic properties, the product may cause temporary blurred vision upon instillation. Wait until this effect subsides before driving vehicles or operating machinery.
IDROFLOG is for external use only. IDROFLOG should not be used immediately before the administration of curative medications, or within twenty minutes after the application of any topical pharmacological therapy. If symptoms in the eyes worsen during treatment, contact a doctor. Prolonged use may lead to complications: the total duration of treatment must be determined by an ophthalmologist. If an inflammatory process is already ongoing, the specialist doctor will decide on appropriate anti-inflammatory therapy to restore the physiological conditions of the ocular surface. To reduce the risk of contamination, each bottle must be used by only one person. Wash hands thoroughly before use. Avoid direct contact of the dropper tip with fingers, the eye, contact lens, or any other surface. Also, prevent the dropper from coming into contact with dirt or dust.
In rare cases, slight blurring of vision has been observed upon instillation, which is due to the viscosity of the solution. A slight burning sensation may occur during instillation. This sensation, however, is temporary. Contact an ophthalmologist if symptoms persist. Adherence to the instructions in the leaflet reduces the risk of side effects.
Do not use IDROFLOG after the expiry date indicated on the packaging. The expiry date refers to an intact product stored correctly. Do not use IDROFLOG if the bottle is damaged. Keep out of sight and reach of children. IDROFLOG should be used on the advice of a specialist doctor. In case of any incidents, it is necessary to report them to the Manufacturer, the Notified Body, and the Competent Authorities.
