Description
6 latex balloons designed for the treatment of negative middle ear pressure, to compensate and normalize middle ear ventilation.
It is used to treat all disorders related to negative middle ear pressure, such as chronic middle ear catarrh. Failure to treat the symptoms can cause fluid accumulation in the middle ear (effusion, otitis) and subsequent hearing loss.
Instructions for use
It should be used 3 times a day, morning, afternoon and evening.
Typically, the duration of treatment is 2-3 weeks.
In case of chronic effusion, the balloon can be used for several weeks or months. In this case, the treating physician should perform regular ear examinations to check the improvements obtained.
Carefully insert the attached balloon onto the plastic adapter's foot so that it is firmly fixed within the notch on the edge.
Inflate the balloon by inserting the rounded end of the nose adapter into one nostril and closing the other nostril with a finger.
Inhale deeply, keeping your mouth closed. Inflate the balloon until it reaches the size of a grapefruit.
You should hear a "click" in your ear or at least notice a change.
If children have difficulty inflating the balloon, it is advisable for an adult to inflate the balloon first.
One pack of balloons is sufficient for a 3-week treatment.
Each balloon should not be used for more than 4 days.
Warnings
Keep out of reach of children.
Do not use in case of acute middle ear inflammation (otitis media) and epistaxis.
It is also advisable to stop use in case of a severe cold, to avoid the infiltration of germs into the middle ear.
Avoid contact between the balloon and skin or mucous membranes (by covering the affected areas) in case of latex allergy.
An adult must continuously supervise the child during the use of the device.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and at a temperature not exceeding 25°C.
The nose adapter should be cleaned after each use with water or a mild soap solution, or, after repeated use, briefly boiled.
Used balloons can be disposed of with regular household waste.
