LITHOSOLV
Description
Dietary supplement of alkaline potassium salts, particularly helpful for individuals experiencing intense fluid loss, such as heavy sweating, diuresis, or diarrhea, or for patients undergoing treatment with medications like diuretics, laxatives, or corticosteroids.
LITHOSOLV can also correct excessive acid load, which can be directly assessed by measuring urinary pH; this can be easily done using the test strips included in the package.
Ingredients
Tribasic potassium citrate.
Nutritional characteristics
Directions for use
It is recommended to take two tablets a day, unless otherwise advised by a doctor.
LITHOSOLV should preferably be taken on a full stomach, taking the tablet with a little water.
For other indications (prevention of kidney stones), follow medical prescription.
USE OF pH STRIPS
Collect urine in a container.
With dry hands, take a strip from the transparent sachet and immerse it in the urine for 1 second; remove it and let the excess urine drip off. The wet part of the strip will change color depending on the urine pH.
Within 2 minutes, compare the color of the strip with the color scale provided in the package.
Read the value corresponding to the color that most closely matches that of the strip.
Disposable strips should be disposed of with household waste after use.
Note: Any color changes in unused strips do not affect their accuracy.
Warnings
Do not exceed the recommended daily dose.
Keep out of reach of children under 3 years of age.
Supplements are not intended as a substitute for a varied diet.
LITHOSOLV is contraindicated in patients suffering from hyperkalemia or hypermagnesemia, or conditions that may predispose to the appearance of such plasma alterations. These conditions include chronic renal failure, uncontrolled diabetes mellitus.
Simultaneous intake of LITHOSOLV and potassium-sparing drugs (triamterene, spironolactone, amiloride) could cause hyperkalemia. It is therefore advisable to monitor blood potassium levels.
No interactions with other drugs are known. Rarely, during treatment, mild gastrointestinal disturbances may develop, such as abdominal heaviness, nausea and occasionally diarrhea. The tablet formulation may be particularly suitable for these subjects.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at room temperature.
Shelf life from manufacturing date, in unopened packaging: 24 months.
Format
Pack of 100 tablets of 1.23 g.
