Description
Sterile ophthalmic solution containing 0.4% high molecular weight biotechnological hyaluronic acid sodium salt. Hyaluronic acid sodium salt is a mucopolysaccharide that, in cases of alterations to the tear film, restores its balance. Its 0.4% concentration allows for greater hydration with a prolonged action over time.
Irilens 0.4% eye drops is a lubricating and hydrating ophthalmic solution indicated in all cases where discomfort caused by dry eyes occurs, such as contact lens use, environmental factors (sun, wind, cold, smoky environments, environments with dry air produced by heating systems or air conditioning), prolonged computer use, old age, the use of medications (antidepressants, anxiolytics, hormones and antihistamines), and ocular surgery.
The formulation of Irilens 0.4% eye drops in a multidose bottle contains sodium chlorite as a preservative, which performs an effective antimicrobial action inside the container, blocking bacterial proliferation and ensuring better product tolerability as it belongs to the category of "disappearing preservatives" which, once instilled into the eye, decompose.
In fact, after application, sodium chlorite converts into oxygen, which evaporates, and sodium chloride, which becomes part of the solution itself and has no action. Therefore, unlike other preservatives, this component does not remain in the eye as such, avoiding the occurrence of adverse events generally linked to the use of normal preservatives.
It can also be used with all types of contact lenses while worn.

Components
Hyaluronic acid sodium salt 0.4%, monobasic sodium phosphate monohydrate, dibasic sodium phosphate dodecahydrate, sodium chloride, disodium EDTA, sodium chlorite, purified water.
Does not contain benzalkonium chloride.

How to use
Open the bottle by removing the protective cap by twisting it. Instill 1-2 drops into each eye by gently pressing the bottle. After use, close immediately. Also suitable for frequent use, several times a day if necessary, according to need or medical indications. Contact lens wearers can apply 1-2 drops of solution to each lens before insertion, to keep the eye moist and lubricated.

Warnings
The product is for external ophthalmic use only.
The product is for use by one patient only.
Do not use the product if the container appears damaged or not perfectly sealed upon first opening.
Allow at least 10-15 minutes after use before instilling medications for external ophthalmic use.
During application, do not touch the eye or any other surface with the dispenser tip of the container.
Do not use in case of known incompatibility with any component of the preparation.
Do not use the product after the expiry date indicated on the package.
Do not discard the container in the environment after use.
Keep out of reach of children.
In case of discomfort during use, discontinue treatment and consult a doctor.
In some cases, after administration, a brief blurring of vision has been observed due to the density of the solution, which nevertheless disappears very quickly.

Storage
Store at a temperature below 30 °C.
Post-opening validity: 3 months.
