Description
Nasal ointment for the treatment of epistaxis. EPISTAS is a hydrophilic ointment in which pectin and gelatin microgranules are dispersed. Pectin is a polysaccharide substance of plant origin that acts as a hydrophilic colloid. Gelatin, a purified protein, also has high hydrophilic power. Due to their ability to absorb liquids, the two substances form a protective "film" which, in EPISTAS, acts with a mechanical action to stop nasal bleeding, creating a barrier at the level of the fragile capillaries of the nasal mucous membranes.

Components
PEG 400, PEG 4000, gelatin, pectin, benzalkonium chloride solution (50%).

Instructions for use
Apply a dose of ointment into the nostrils, possibly using a gauze, compressing the nose from the outside with your fingers.

Warnings
Do not swallow. Avoid contact with eyes. In case of accidental contact, wash eyes with plenty of water. Keep out of reach of children. After use, make sure the nozzle is clean before closing the tube; if not, clean it with a disinfectant solution. Personal use of the device is recommended. Do not use if hypersensitive or allergic to any of the components. If the product causes sensitization phenomena, discontinue treatment and consult a doctor. The use, especially prolonged use, of all topical products can lead to sensitization phenomena. In such cases, consult a doctor to establish appropriate therapy.

Storage
The expiration date refers to the product in an intact package and stored correctly. Do not use the device after the expiration date indicated on the package. Close the tube after use. Store at room temperature. Do not expose to heat sources. Do not disperse the container in the environment. Validity of intact packaging: 36 months.
