TRAVEL ENEMAS
Description
Medical device used to clear the last part of the intestine of feces and/or gas, with the introduction of a probe into the rectum and/or sigmoid.
It is used for diagnostic purposes, before surgery, or simply for a temporary difficulty in evacuating due to the presence of a traumatic obstructive fecaloma, or in case of constipation or other problems related to defecation.
It can also be used at home.
Equipped with an anal cannula for enemas and a vaginal irrigation cannula.
Instructions for use
Before assembling the device, clean and sanitize, and if deemed necessary, sterilize the parts in contact with the user (cannulas).
To assemble, proceed as follows:
• Insert the fitting into the lower end of the bag, screwing it in firmly (without the aid of tools)
• Insert the transparent tube onto the fitting, ensuring it reaches the tube stop
• Insert the other end of the transparent tube onto the hose fitting on the tap with lever; the inserted part of the tube on the tap must be such as to guarantee subsequent sealing against therapeutic liquids that will be used and at the same time prevent it from slipping off during manual operations
• Hang the bag vertically in a suitable position, using the supplied handle; the support used must guarantee a solid anchorage in a position that prevents any contamination, i.e. accidental introduction of foreign liquids/materials into the bag. The height of the bag determines the water pressure inside the cannula; ask your doctor what height to position the bag at
• Close the tap using the lever (the closed position is identified by the lever being at 90° to the liquid flow)
• Screw one of the two supplied cannulas firmly onto the tap (depending on use).
The device is now ready for use.
Pre-use checks
Before unpacking, ensure that the device is intact. If you believe that there are missing and/or damaged parts, do not use it, but contact the seller who sold the device. For any clarifications, always consult your trusted pharmacist/doctor.
Always ensure before each use that all parts of the device are intact and not damaged (e.g. presence of cracks, dents, tears), have not changed color, have not taken on uneven colors, do not have superficial molds and do not emit unpleasant odors from inside the bag with handle and other components.
In such cases, do not use and replace immediately.
Cleaning method
Before using the device for the first time and thereafter, manually disassemble all parts and wash them with lukewarm water and neutral soap, then sanitize (disinfect) them; the cannulas can be sterilized by gamma rays, heat, and ethylene oxide.
For the appropriate method of sanitization, manually disassemble all parts of the device and consult your trusted pharmacist/doctor, taking into account the composition of the various materials indicated in the features.
Do not use brushes for cleaning, only soft sponges so as not to scratch the surface.
Do not use alcohol, solvents, or acids to clean the surfaces of the device.
