Tablets for cats
For oral use.
For the treatment of mixed nematode and cestode infestations in cats caused by: Ascarids: Toxocara cati (syn. mystax), Toxascaris leonina. Hookworms: Ancylostoma tubaeforme, Ancylostoma braziliense. Tapeworms: Echinococcus granulosus, Echinococcus multilocularis, Dipylidium caninum, Taenia spp., Mesocestoides spp., Joyeuxiella spp..
Instructions for use
5 mg of praziquantel and 57.5 mg of pyrantel embonate per kg of body weight. This corresponds to 1 tablet per 4 kg of body weight.
The tablet can be divided as needed.
Administer orally to cats.
Administration can be done directly, or by wrapping the tablet in a piece of meat or sausage, or by crushing it and mixing it with food.
No dietary measures are necessary.
Administer in a single dose.
Dosage
5 mg of praziquantel and 57.5 mg of pyrantel embonate per kg of body weight. This corresponds to 1 tablet per 4 kg of body weight.
The tablet can be divided as needed.
Storage
This medicinal product does not require any special storage conditions.
Warnings
In order to achieve effective parasite control, treatment should be carried out based on the results of parasitological examination.
To ensure correct dosage, animals should be weighed.
As cestode infestation in cats does not appear before the third week of life, treatment is only indicated after the third week of life.
Parasite resistance to a particular class of anthelmintics could develop following the frequent, repeated use of an anthelmintic from the same class.
Echinococcosis poses a danger to humans; in case of echinococcosis, specific guidelines for treatment and follow-up, and for the protection of people, must be followed.
Consult an expert or a parasitology institute.
Do not use in severely debilitated animals or those with severe impairment of liver or kidney function.
- Special precautions for the person administering the product to animals: persons with known hypersensitivity to the active ingredients contained in this medicinal product should administer the product with caution.
Wash hands after use. Avoid contact with eyes.
In case of eye irritation, consult a doctor.
Do not eat, drink or smoke while using the product.
In case of accidental ingestion, seek medical advice immediately and show the package leaflet or the label.
- Overdose: symptoms of overdose are not observed with doses up to 5 times the recommended dose. The first expected symptom of intoxication is vomiting.
