For thermotherapy, heat the dilator to be used in hot water (not exceeding 50°C) for about 10-15 minutes.\u003cbr\u003e Then spread the dilator with lubricating cream or ointment. Insert the dilator slowly into the anal orifice up to its base, sitting on the bidet or lying on your side, either before or after defecation. In case of sphincter spasm, it is advisable to precede the dilation with a warm bidet which has a relaxing effect on the muscles of the anal sphincters. The dilator should be kept in place for about one to three minutes and then slowly removed.
