Description
Medical device with a laxative action, indicated for the symptomatic treatment of constipation.
It promotes peristalsis, helping to achieve adequate bowel evacuation, thus counteracting constipation and preventing the formation of fecal impaction. It also facilitates the elimination of intestinal gases, reducing the feeling of bloating and abdominal distension.
Dicopeg esse comes in powder for oral solution.
Macrogol is an inert, water-soluble, high-molecular-weight polymer that has the ability to bind to the water used for intake, retaining it in the feces. It rehydrates and softens the fecal mass, facilitating its evacuation. It accelerates intestinal transit by promoting peristalsis. It is not absorbed or metabolized in the gastrointestinal tract and does not lead to hydro-electrolyte imbalances if taken with the indicated dose of liquid.
Simethicone is a substance that has the ability to decrease the surface tension of gas bubbles in the gastrointestinal tract, facilitating their expulsion.

Instructions for use
Children aged between 6 months and 12 years (adults/children ≤43 kg)
- 6-10 kg: 1 sachet per day;
- 10-15 kg: 1-2 sachets per day;
- 16-20 kg: 2-3 sachets per day;
- 21-43 kg: 3-4 sachets per day.
The dose should be increased or decreased, depending on the individual response to treatment, to allow for regular evacuation of soft stools.
The maximum necessary dose normally does not exceed 4 sachets per day.
Dissolve the powder in water or other liquid (60 ml per sachet) and take immediately. It is recommended to administer the product in the morning if the minimum dose is to be taken (1 sachet per day). For larger doses, divide the intake between morning and evening.

Adults and children over 12 years of age (>43 kg)
- 2 to 8 sachets per day.
The dose should be increased or decreased, depending on the individual response to treatment, to allow for regular evacuation of soft stools.

Dissolve the powder in water or other liquid (60 ml per sachet) and take immediately. It is recommended to administer the product in the morning if the minimum dose is to be taken (2 sachets per day). For larger doses, divide the intake between morning and evening.

Warnings
It is recommended to use the product in pediatric age after consulting a doctor. Administration in children must be carried out under the direct supervision of an adult.
Consult your doctor before use during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the packaging and on the sachet.
Do not use if the package is open or damaged.
Do not exceed the maximum daily dose.
The product is single-use: do not use sachets partially or opened at unknown times, as this method of use could lead to risks of product contamination.
Keep the product or the resulting solution out of the reach of children.
If no improvement is observed after 7 days of treatment, it is advisable to consult a doctor.
The product may reduce the residence time in the intestine and therefore the absorption of oral medications. It is therefore advisable to consult a doctor in case of concomitant intake of oral medications, which in any case should be administered at least 2 hours apart.
In case of undesirable reactions, even if different from those listed, discontinue treatment and consult your doctor. Some gastrointestinal disorders (stomach ache, flatulence, abdominal bloating, nausea and fecal incontinence) may occur. Diarrhea is a side effect of taking excessive doses of Dicopeg esse and can be avoided by decreasing the dose. Cases of hypersensitivity reactions (skin rash) following the use of products containing macrogol have been rarely reported. In such cases, discontinue treatment and consult a doctor.
Do not take Dicopeg esse in case of known hypersensitivity to macrogol or other components, intestinal perforation, obstruction or stenosis, paralytic ileus, severe inflammatory bowel diseases such as Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis and toxic megacolon.
The use of laxatives is contraindicated in cases of acute or unknown origin abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting, rectal bleeding of unknown origin and in cases of severe dehydration.

Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, away from light and heat sources.
The indicated expiry date refers to the product correctly stored in an intact package.
Validity with intact packaging: 36 months.
