Dermatix
Silicone scar treatment gel
Description
A transparent silicone gel that dries quickly and contributes to skin hydration by treating scars resulting from surgery, burns, and other injuries. Dermatix flattens, softens, and smooths scars, relieves pain, itching, and discomfort associated with them, and reduces the redness associated with scar tissue. Dermatix gel is easily applicable to all skin surfaces, including the face, joints, and body parts subjected to movement, and dries quickly, forming a transparent "film." Dermatix was developed using the same basic long-chain polymers employed in silicone gel sheets and is available in a tube. The gel contains polysiloxane.
Dermatix is used for the treatment and prevention of keloids and hypertrophic scars (e.g., those resulting from general surgical procedures, traumatic wounds, and burns) after complete wound healing and on an intact skin surface. It is also used for immature, red, raised scars in the active healing phase, often up to two years after wound closure.
Instructions for use
Remove the tube cap and cut the tip. Wash the affected area and pat dry, as Dermatix should only be applied to dry, clean skin. Gently massage a small amount of gel onto the scar. If an excessive amount of product is applied, it should be gently removed with a cloth to prevent staining clothes. After Dermatix gel has dried, makeup and cosmetics can be applied. Apply twice a day, morning and evening, for at least two months. For difficult scars, treatment may need to be continued. Dermatix can also be used in children.
Components
Polysiloxane.
Warnings
Dermatix should not be applied to open, healing wounds. Dermatix should not be applied to mucous membranes or near the eyes. Dermatix should not be applied to skin treated with other medicinal products and other topical products without medical advice.
Rarely, the gel may cause redness, pain, or skin irritation. In case of reactions, discontinue use of the product. For any doubts about these or other side effects, consult your doctor or pharmacist. Keep out of reach of children.
Storage
Store at temperatures below 25 °C and away from heat sources. Do not use Dermatix after the expiry date shown on the package.
Shelf life with intact packaging: 60 months.
