CONNETTIVINABIO PLUS CREAM
Description
Topical preparation based on hyaluronic acid sodium salt as the main component. Hyaluronic acid is a biological polysaccharide (glycosaminoglycan) distributed in the cellular matrix of most tissues. Several studies have shown that it can participate in many different tissue repair processes by facilitating healing and re-epithelialization. Thanks to its hydrophilic properties, it provides a moist environment necessary for the natural healing process. Silver sulfadiazine is a well-known antimicrobial agent that inhibits the in vitro growth of almost all pathogenic bacteria and fungi. The presence of silver sulfadiazine in the product's composition plays a role in preventing microbial contamination, thus enhancing hyaluronic acid's ability to support wound healing. These characteristics allow dressing changes to be performed even once a day: this causes minimum discomfort for the patient and minimum exposure of the lesion to air, thus reducing the possibility of wound contamination.
Indicated for the treatment of skin lesions, especially those with a high risk of infection. It is particularly indicated for the treatment of acute and chronic wounds (first and second-degree burns, vascular and metabolic ulcers, and pressure sores) and to provide a moist and microbe-free wound environment.
It can be used on uninfected wounds to prevent infection and, after successful treatment of infected wounds, to prevent reinfection.
Instructions for use
Cleanse the wound before each application. Apply a thin layer of cream to the wound surface, once or twice a day depending on the severity, until complete healing. Prolonged treatments, exceeding one month, should be evaluated by a physician based on the clinical evolution of the wound.
Components
Main component: hyaluronic acid sodium salt 0.2%.
Other components: silver sulfadiazine 1%, polyethylene glycol 400 monostearate, oleic acid decyl ester, emulsifying wax, glycerol, sorbitol 70% solution, purified water.
Warnings
Do not administer to patients with known individual hypersensitivity to any of the components or with renal or hepatic insufficiency or with a glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency.
Do not administer to pregnant women and children.
Do not use if the packaging is damaged.
Do not use the product after the expiry date indicated on the packaging.
The expiry date refers to the product in its original packaging at a temperature below 30°C.
After use, dispose of according to specific national procedures.
Keep out of reach of children.
Avoid direct contact of the container with the wound.
Each tube of CONNETTIVINABIO PLUS Cream should be used by only one patient to reduce the risk of cross-infection.
Avoid exposing treated areas to sunlight, as products containing silver sulfadiazine can stain the skin a brownish-grey color. However, any discoloration can be easily removed by washing the area.
Do not use concomitantly with disinfectants containing quaternary ammonium salts or with locally applied proteolytic enzymes, as they may interact with the product.
Generally well tolerated. When extensive areas of the body are treated, side effects may occur that are sometimes observed after systemic administration of sulfonamides, such as renal failure, toxic hepatitis, agranulocytosis, thrombocytopenia, leukopenia.
Do not freeze.
Storage
Store at a temperature between 2°C and 30°C.
Shelf life unopened: 36 months.
Shelf life after opening: 12 months.
