Description
Acmed™ New 20% azelaic acid is effective in patients suffering from all types of acne, both in the acute phase and in maintenance therapy, with a higher tolerability profile compared to benzoyl peroxide.
Azelaic acid is currently one of the most considered substances for the treatment of acne vulgaris, especially in mild to moderate forms, but also for rosacea. As shown by its multiple actions on the skin, its anti-acne and anti-comedogenic action (against blackheads and pimples typical of acne), well documented by numerous clinical studies, is due to:
- antibacterial properties (especially against Propionibacterium acnes);
- inhibitory activity against keratinocyte proliferation;
- anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activity (against free radicals);
- activity to reduce the content of free fatty acids in the lipids of the skin surface (less oily skin);
- depigmenting action, useful for effectively combating skin spots due to acne.
Compared to other topical treatments used for acne, azelaic acid is not photosensitizing, so it can also be used in the summer months.
The first results may be observable after two months of treatment, but it is normally essential to continue applying the cream beyond that to obtain a complete remission of the signs and symptoms of acne.
Does not contain fragrances.

Instructions for use
Wash the area to be treated (such as face, chest, or back). Apply the product with a light massage. Do not rinse the treated area. Wash hands after application. It is recommended to apply the product 1-2 times a day for up to 12 weeks.

Warnings
Avoid contact with eyes. In case of contact with eyes, rinse them with plenty of fresh water. For external use only. Keep out of reach of children. For any information or doubt, consult your doctor or pharmacist.

Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature below 28°C, away from heat sources.
Shelf life when unopened: 48 months.
